When it comes time to shop a three wheeled e-scooter or mobility scooter, there are some things to consider, so to get a vehicle that meets your needs.
As regards mobility scooter, there are usually four engine power on the market: 400 Watts, 500 Watts, 800 Watts and 1200 Watts. The speed ranges from 10km/h for models of 400 Watts up to 25km/h for certain models of 1200 Watts.
Depending on the weight of the user, this one will choose the power of the electric vehicle accordingly. Thus, for a person weighing less than 250 pounds, all models offered by Fun E-Cycle are appropriate. For those with higher weight or for those wishing to travel in duo, it is recommended to choose a vehicle with a higher power.
The autonomy depends on the intensity of the battery powering the vehicle. So a 40 amp battery will allow the vehicle to travel a distance of approximately 40 km, while it will be possible to reach up to 90 km with a 80 amp battery.
If the parking space is limited, the 400 Watts with their small size will be possibly a better choice.
Just periodically check the air pressure in the tires. It may also be appropriate to carry out the lubrication of the chain as needed. Note, however, that to prolong the life of your batteries, it is recommended to charge them at least once a month, this even if you don’t use your electric vehicle.
The most appropriate cleaning technique is proceeding with a cloth and a water bucket. In addition, it is important to never spray large water-shoot directly on the vehicle. Indeed, since in this case the watering of electrical components could cause a short circuit and damage the control box.
The air pressure inside the tire varies from one vehicle to another. In most cases the information is visible on the tire by the name « PSI ». Generally, the air pressure ranges from 30 to 40 PSI.
Note that for a better comfort, it is advisable to have a slightly lower air pressure in the front wheels than those at the rear. Indeed, we must know that a high air pressure will increase the autonomy, but will decrease the driver’s comfort. This rule also applies in the opposite case, where low air pressure will increase comfort, but will decrease the vehicle autonomy.
If you get out in a downpour of rain, it is recommended to cover the front part of the vehicle using a plastic bag. This will aim to prevent the water infiltration on the electrical system of the vehicle. It is also better after a ride in the rain to dry the vehicle using a soft dry cloth.
Very few locksmiths can reproduce this type of key. It is strongly recommended to keep at home the spare key that is provided when purchasing the vehicle.
In the event that you lose all of your keys, the only remaining solution is to make the change ignition and locks of vehicle. Note that this procedure may unfortunately be quite expensive. So a tip, plan ahead by storing in a safe location a double of your keys.
Firstly, you should know that each vehicle has not one but several batteries. In most cases, these are connected together in series. For example, with a battery pack of 60-volt, it is actually 5 batteries of 12-volt each connected together in series. To connect the batteries in series, always reverse the polarity (+ and -) of a battery to the other, either from positive to negative. In some cases, the vehicle may required a series and parralel connection. For more information on how to connect the batteries on your vehicle, please contact our customer service.
It is advisable to replace the batteries more often than less. Normally, you need to plug the vehicle after each day of use. Avoid forgetting to charge a battery that has been a long time without charging. So the secret to preserve its battery for many years is to always keep it fully charged. When the vehicle is in storage, you need as much as possible to charge the batteries every month, even if the vehicle is not used. A battery connected to a circuit loses in charge approximately 3% per day. So after a month of inactivity it will generally discharged.
A battery have a lifespan of about 3 years or 300 recharges. Some batteries if always kept fully charged, can have a lifespan up to 5 years.
A charger left more than 24 hours on one charge can cause swelling of the batteries. You should know that the charger doesn’t stop its charge until it reaches the required level of amperage. So, if a battery is defective, it will cause an overload, also on the other batteries.
The price of the batteries varies according to amperage. For example, a 12 amp battery costs about 50$ while a 20 amp battery will cost around 70$.
Even if the batteries are sealed, it can still be a risk of explosion. Please check with your airline. Although accepted in most cases, it is nevertheless necessary to notify the company because it’s a special handling.
This is a gel battery, so it doesn’t have liquid acid.
The deep-cycle battery, required for electric vehicles, has the particularity to discharge completely, compared with the current battery that retains about 35% of its charge. Furthermore, the deep-cycle battery has been designed to transmit a high power rate. The use of a common battery on an electric vehicle will be the consequence of having a short life. It is therefore essential to always use deep-cycle batteries on an electric vehicle.
For several reasons, it is not recommended to install more batteries on a vehicle. This significantly increases the weight and thus can weaken the frame. If you absolutely want to increase the battery capacity of your vehicle, never exceed the required voltage. Otherwise, you may short-circuiting the control or inflame the the wires of your vehicle.
Check if the circuit breaker is on.
Then check if the battery cables are correctly connected.
Next, check if there is not a disconnected wire on the ignition.
If not resolved, contact our customer service.

In most cases, it’s the electric transformer that must be changed. It is used to convert the power of 60 volts to 12 volts. If the horn works but not the lights, check bulbs or the wires relating to the bulbs.
Indeed, because usually thefts tend to occur during the night, despite that the vehicle has or not a lock. In the case that there would be no alternative, we recommend covering the vehicle with a waterproof cover. Thus, it has the advantage of protecting your vehicle from rain and hiding it from thieves.
During the winter, it is best to store at warm the vehicle. This will avoid unpleasant surprises in the spring. Don’t forget to charge the batteries every month. No more than 15 hours of charging.
It is never advisable to store his vehicle in cold temperatures. If this is the case, you should cover it to restrict the moisture at maximum.
When the vehicle is stored in an air-conditioned place, there is no problem. However, if the vehicle is stored outside, it may have at thaw a high humidity, which can cause rust in the engine, so later a malfunction. So, cover it to restrict the moisture at maximum can solve this problem.
For e-scooter and e-bike, put oil on the chain. For all vehicles always execute a full charge before storage.
For the three wheeled e-scooter and mobility scooter, no license or registration is required. For the electric scooter and electric bike, no license is required for a person 18 years of age and older. However, for the age group between 14 and 17 years old, the Class 6D licence is required. For more information, visit the SAAQ website at https://saaq.gouv.qc.ca/en/drivers-licences/obtaining-licence/moped-scooter-class-6d/.
Note that under provincial legislation in Quebec, a helmet is mandatory while driving a electric scooter or electric bike.
The Highway Safety Code of Quebec provides specific rules for persons wishing to drive a scooter or electric bike in province of Quebec, including the obligation to wear a safety helmet that meets the standards.
Thus, the helmet must be made of a rigid shell, which has a padding inside, in addition to being provided with a strap passing under the chin. It is important that the helmet is properly adjusted to the wearer’s head for optimum efficiency in the event of a fall or accident.
To be compliant, we may recommend one or more of the following standards for your helmet:
– CAN/CSA-D113.2 (Canadian Standards Association)
– 16 CFR Part 1203 (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission)
– ASTM F1447 or ASTM F1898 (American Society for Testing and Materials)
– EN 1078 (European Committee for Standardization)
– B-90 and B-95 (Snell Memorial Foundation)
Thus, when the name of one of these organisms is inscribed inside the helmet or on the packaging of the helmet, this ensures that the helmet complies with optimum protection standards, including impact resistance.
Note that wearing the helmet is optional for driving a Three Wheeled E-Scooter or a Mobility Scooter.
Fun E-Cycle offers on electric vehicles a limited warranty of one year on parts and labor and six months on the batteries. The warranty is not transferable.
